Summer Family Registration: Monday, July 30, beginning at 9:00 AM. This special early registration is exclusive to families with students who took any lessons during our summer 2012 session.

Returning Family Registration: Thursday, August 2, beginning at 9:00 AM. This early registration is for families with students who completed the 2011-2012 academic year at the Academy.

New Family Registration: Monday, August 6, beginning at 9:00 AM. This is when registration opens to the public.

How to register: Early requests will not be accepted. Send your request for teacher(s) and days/times, along with your student type (regular or pay-as-you-go) to us via email, text, or phone. Your request will be responded to in the order it was received, which may not be until the following day. Remember, if you register as a “regular student,” the spot that you reserve is yours for the entire 2012-2013 school year!

Email: academyofsoundllc@gmail.com         Send a NEW email, with “REGISTRATION” in the subject line. DO NOT reply to our original email.

Phone/Text: 608.235.9031                            Leave a voicemail with your request and your call will be returned. Please note, when we respond to your

text, it may be from a different number.

Tuition requirement: Once you have requested & received confirmation on your lesson slot(s), you will receive an invoice via email. You must pay or turn in a Direct Pay form in order for your spot(s) to be reserved. We will hold spots for 2 days from the time of your request. After that if your payment or form has not been received, your reservation will be open for others to select.

How to pay: You may deliver your tuition payment to the Academy of Sound studios, send it via mail, or pay by credit card in person (only Erin and Eric can accept credit card payments).

Auto debit from checking/savings: Academy of Sound requires those who wish to make installments to use Direct Pay. We can divide your semester tuition into two or four installments. We have forms available to automatically debit your checking account each time an installment is due. You can request this form via email, pick it up, or download it from our website under the Pay Tuition tab.

Policy changes: New policies are described briefly below. Please re-familiarize yourself with our other policies by reading through the entire policy (also attached) before you re-enroll.

  1. Regarding make up lessons, a new policy states: “Each regular student will be limited to ONE make up lesson per semester, per instrument. If you anticipate more than one absence each semester, we encourage you to enroll as a 'pay-as-you-go' student.” Please see the section in our policy on Student Type for details.

  2. No-showing for a recital now results in immediate dismissal from our school.

  3. All accompanists have been paid directly by students or their families since 2007, but we are now making this an official policy, which states “Accompanists - Students or their families are responsible to pay their own accompanist for recitals, competitions, auditions or any other event which requires an accompanist. We have several teachers who are available to accompany students, or you are welcome to find your own accompanist. Please ask your accompanist how much they charge, and pay them before the day of the event.”

  4. Regarding missed lessons due to other activities, a new policy states: “Absences due to conflicts with other activities should be rare and will not be made up. When choosing between your child's lesson and a conflicting activity, please keep in mind that you have paid for the lesson whether your child attends or not.”

  5. Regarding our studio rules for no food, drink, gum, candy, etc.: “Water is allowed for voice & drama students in a container with a lid.”

New contact information?: All new students will need to return a completed registration form to us upon registration. For returning students, If any of your contact information has changed, please fill out a new registration form for each student and return it with your tuition payment. If none of your information has changed, you do not need to return a new form to us this year.

Please see the attached calendar, which shows the planned closings for the 2012-2013 school year, as well as the 2012-2013 tuition rates.

Looking forward to another great year!

-Erin Peterson Kaether
