Violin/Viola Teacher

We are looking for an in-person Violin/Viola teacher to take the place of one of our long-time teachers who will be leaving by the end of March 2024. This position already has established students with an established schedule that goes through May 19, 2024. The schedule may be altered for summer.

Compensation: $20-$30 per teaching hour. Will vary depending on education and experience.

Responsibilities

The primary duties of a teacher at Academy of Sound are to prepare for and teach private lessons on the enrolled instrument for people ages 4 through adults. The current teaching hours for this position are 6.75 hours/week with the ability to add more open lesson times if desired. The set schedule is weekly on Tuesdays from 3:15 PM - 7:30 PM with a half-hour break and Wednesdays from 3:30 PM - 6:30 PM. There are a total of nine students ranging from ages 5 - 13 with the majority of them studying violin and two studying viola. 

 

Qualifications

  • Have reliable transportation, and no potential conflicts with the availability you give us

  • Thrive while working with young musicians in a private lesson setting -- passing of a high-level background check is required

  • Have a minimum of 2 years experience working in a private music lesson setting, or similar

  • It is a plus if you have a degree in music education or performance, but candidates will not necessarily be excluded without this specific degree

 

Candidates who are accepted for this position will be expected to be available for the current set schedule to finish our school year session. For the summer session, you will have the opportunity to create your own schedule for your teaching.

Guitar Teacher

We are looking to add to our in-person guitar faculty at Academy of Sound.

Compensation: $20-$30 per teaching hour. Will vary depending on education and experience.

Responsibilities

The primary duties of a teacher at Academy of Sound are to prepare for and teach private lessons on the enrolled instrument for people ages 4 through adults. Hours will depend on how many lesson spots you want to open/fill. Lessons are filled on a sign-up basis.

 

Qualifications

  • Have reliable transportation, and no potential conflicts with the availability you give us

  • Thrive while working with young musicians in a private lesson setting -- passing of a high-level background check is required

  • Have a minimum of 2 years experience working in a private music lesson setting, or similar

  • It is a plus if you have a degree in music education or performance, but candidates will not necessarily be excluded without this specific degree

 

Candidates who are accepted for this position will be expected to be available 3-5 hours per week to start, with the expectation that a new teacher will generate more interest so there’s a great possibility to grow up to 20 hours per week.

Preschool Private Piano, Guitar, Violin, etc. Teachers

We are looking for the next teachers to fill vacancies at our Fitchburg, WI location, inside Mariposa Learning Center. 

Compensation: $20-$26 per teaching hour. Will vary depending on education and experience.

Responsibilities

The primary duties of a teacher at Academy of Sound-Mariposa are to prepare for and teach private lessons on the enrolled instrument for people aged 4 through 10. A rudimentary or better level of Spanish will be helpful.

 

Qualifications

  • Have reliable transportation, and no potential conflicts with the availability you give us

  • Thrive while working with very young musicians in a private lesson setting -- passing of a high-level background check is required

  • Have a minimum of 2 years experience working in a private music lesson setting, daycare, or similar

  • It is a plus if you have a degree in music education or performance, but candidates will not necessarily be excluded without this specific degree

 

Candidates who are accepted for this position will be expected to be available 3-5 hours per week. More hours may be available as our studio at this location grows.
