The Ensemble Experience
For Ages 10–16 | Intermediate Level | Summer, Fall and Spring Sessions
The Ensemble Experience is a program for students ages 10–16 who are ready to take their music skills to the next level together. This program is open to students who are playing or singing at an intermediate level or above. Students must have approval from their private lesson teacher to join, or come for a trial rehearsal to ensure they are at an appropriate level to join the group.

This group will rehearse weekly and explore a wide range of musical genres, chosen by the group! Students will:
-
Learn songs by ear
-
Build improvisation skills
-
Strengthen their stage presence
-
Train their musical ear
-
Develop confidence performing in a group
-
Contribute to arranging music as a team

We have students who play drums, guitar, bass guitar, voice and keyboard…but the ensemble is open to other instruments as well! Students who play multiple instruments will even have the opportunity to rotate between them.

About The Teacher
Meet Mr. Michael
Mr. Michael has come full circle at Academy of Sound, having started drum lessons here at the age of four and now primarily teaching drums at the very same place. Over the years, he has played a key role in creating student ensembles that perform at our recitals. He has guided students in working together, developing their own arrangements, and preparing for the stage. Mr. Michael is especially great with groups. He knows how to keep things fun and focused, and students love working with him. He’s cool, relatable, and incredibly skilled, making him a natural leader who brings out the best in each musician. With his experience, energy, and dedication, he’s the perfect person to lead this program!
