Madison Leischner is a clarinetist and educator from central Illinois. Madi has enjoyed a career of teaching clarinet in a variety of formats including private instruction, masterclasses, and most recently as Lecturer of Clarinet at UW-Madison. They earned degrees in clarinet performance and music education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign. Madi’s teaching approach focuses on creating a strong mind-body connection and a well-rounded understanding of music beyond just the clarinet. Outside of teaching, Madi is the manager and librarian for the Capitol City Band Association, a nonprofit organization that puts on free band concerts year-round. Madi lives in Fitchburg with their senior pup, Dodger.
