Academy of Sound promotes virtual music-making

In addition to our Winter Recital on December 21st (watch it here), we are excited to announce that AOS students have been invited to submit videos to be played at the Dane County Regional Airport! Read on for more information on Tunes In & Around the Terminal, and note the airport video deadline: December 9th.
You can use your Winter Recital video for the airport, or create a new one!
2020 Tunes In & Around the Terminal

Hello area musicians!
2020 may have had its fair share of disruptions, but we’re excited to announce that we’ve worked out a plan to keep our annual music event alive here at the Dane County Regional Airport! This year, in honor of a slightly different format, we’re calling it, “Tunes in and around the Terminal.”
We know that many of you are already preparing videos or recordings in some form to be able to share your music with others during the holiday season, and we want to celebrate that. We’ll be setting up a large screen projector and speakers in the terminal and want to feature your musical offerings to create a sense of community and good cheer for holiday travelers.
We will compile videos and audio recordings together to present a virtual concert to keep the terminal humming from December 19th through the 27th.

Thanks to all who participated in our recent satisfaction survey.
We are pleased to hear how so many of you appreciate the ability to study virtually, including cutting down on travel time, and being able to continue music lessons during the pandemic.
We also agree with your feedback that in-person lessons and recitals are special! We hope to get back to them again, as soon as they are safe.

Important dates to remember
Academy of Sound Main Location (Oregon) will continue to operate virtually (online lessons only) through May 2021. Academy of Sound at Mariposa Learning Center will continue to operate in person and utilize online lessons as needed for any closings or quarantines.
Wednesday, December 9: Video submissions due for Tunes In & Around the Terminal. More info here.
Monday, December 14: Winter recital videos due. Recital info & registration here.
Monday, December 21: Winter recital (online/virtual) premiere.
December 21, 2020 through January 3, 2021: CLOSED. No lessons (Main Location)
December 24, 2020 through January 3, 2020: CLOSED. No Lesson (Mariposa Location)
Monday January 4, 2021: Lessons resume. Mariposa Spring Session Begins.
January 11-15: Conference lessons (Main Location)
